As you can tell from my pictures, I am a beautiful
girl who needs to lose some weight. My Dad and Mom loved me very
much, but were no longer able to give me the amount of exercise I
need. They reluctantly returned me to SRCI so I could find a home
where I could get the exercise I need to stay healthy. I am somewhat
timid when I first met you, but soon warm up to you.

Hi, my name is Sydney and I am looking for a
forever home. This nice lady came to get me from my home and took
me somewhere else for a while and then to the vet to find out how
healthy I am. Then the nice lady took me to another nice lady and
left me there. My foster Mom has 2 other doggies that look like me
and that made me happy that I have someone to play with. It took me
a little bit to get used to the foster Mom but I feel right at home
now. The vet said I needed to lose weight so I am not getting very
much food. I don’t mind it too much because one of the other dogs
keeps me pretty busy. Whew, I never knew that I would be this busy
keeping up with another dog! I had to leave my Foster Mom for a day
and go to the vet again and get a dental. She said it was a little
over a week after I had been to the vet before and I was such a good
doggie because I lost 1½ pounds!
I now have a back yard. I didn’t know what that
was before because my Mommy and Daddy took me on walks instead of
letting me run in a yard. I am trained to walk with a leash though
so that makes me special. My foster Mom also has this little door
just for doggies to go in and out whenever they want. I really like
that now because I can run out when she leaves to say bye-bye and go
back in once she is gone.

I am housebroken (whatever that means). My foster
Mom says I’m a sweet, affectionate, well behaved big dog. She has
had to learn that I can shake either of my paws and that I wait
until I’m told “OK” before I will touch my dinner. It’s not the
same with the treats I get though. I’m waiting for those with
baited breath and she feeds those to me by hand. She says I’m a
good doggie because I make sure I don’t bite her hand when she gives
me those treats.
One thing my foster Mom doesn’t understand is that
I like to bark at cars when they go by even if they’re way far
away. As long as I see a car moving out there I need to bark at
it. She says it’s OK because I’m getting a lot of exercise doing it
since I run through the house and rush out “my” door to the back
fence and then run to the other side of the yard when I see a car on
that street. Hey, maybe that’s why I like taking naps!
Well, my foster Mom says that I should find a
forever home soon because I’m the bestest dog. The world needs more
dogs like me!
Bye for now.
