Petie is a country dog who loved to run
free but never strayed far from his family and home. He was always
by his master’s side when chores were being done. He also likes to
be with women and is now following his foster Mom everywhere. He has
never had obedience training but comes when you whistle and call his
name. There are no bad habits like chewing or getting up on
furniture. He is a neat and slow eater and barks when he wants to go
out and do his duty. He walks well on a leash and doesn't pull but
does need to learn to stay on the left side and not weave back and
forth. He will start learning commands to sit, down and stay during
the time he is fostered. Petie gets along with other dogs and is not
aggressive with his food and seems more submissive. His past owners
said he loved children but didn't know about cats. When he was taken
to the vet for his check up there was a cat there and he just
quietly walked up to it and then walked away. He arrived at his
foster home with all his "credentials" and will be neutered within
the week. He has no health problems and is full of energy and very
alert. He is not a barker except when people come to the door or
when he gets excited. A fenced yard is a must until he bonds to the
family in a new home. Petie is settling in with city life and is
adapting to the change very well. He is happy and eating good and is
getting more playful. He catches a ball very well but has yet to
bring it back. Once his hair grows back in he will be beautiful. He
was shaved due to a flea problem that has since been corrected.
Petie is a sweetie!
