Welcome to Sheltie Rescue of Central Indiana, Incorporated (SRCI). We are a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation consisting of a small number of hard working volunteers, dedicated to caring for and placing Shetland Sheepdogs into permanent and loving homes.

Since 1994, over 1200 Shelties have been received into our foster care program. Most of our Shelties come from Indiana and are fostered and adopted within the state.

NOTE: If you live outside of Indiana, please visit "Other Rescue Links" on the tab to the left to find an organization in your area.

Meet Tinkerbell and Ella - two eleven year old Tri siblings who came into rescue when their owner was unable to take care of them.  Both are sweet and friendly sisters who are large in stature and size.  They have been slimming down and are beginning to show waistlines.

The girls have medical opportunities to work through as they get ready to journey on to their forever homes.

Tinker recently has had surgery to remove two massive tumors, plus a dental.  She is recuperating nicely and wags her tail in appreciation for being taken care of.

Ella is heartworm positive. She will be having her second treatment on the 30th of this month.  Once she is tested negative, Ella will have surgery to remove a large mammary tumor and a much needed dental.  Ella is the smaller of the two and loves to be next to her person.

If you care to make a donation to help with Tinkerbell's and Ella's medical costs, you may do so via the PayPal Donate button on the left or by sending a check to SRCI at P.O. Box 199046, Indianapolis, IN, 46219.  Please indicate your donation is for Tinkerbell and Ella.

All of the Shelties currently in our care would like nothing more than to find a furever home as soon as they can.  It takes time and consistent effort on the part of our foster families to host, evaluate, and bring these furbabies along until they are ready for a new family to love them.  Please consider donating to help cover the cost of medical needs of several of our fosters as they prepare to go on to a furever home.
